BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) —
A man and woman were taken into custody after shots were fired during the execution of a search warrant in Birmingham Wednesday morning.

The Birmingham Police Department said its narcotics unit was executing the warrant at a residence in the 2000 block of Princeton Avenue SW.
Police said as the officers entered the residence, shots were fired at them.
Police said officers at the scene did not fire back and no officers or suspects were injured.
Police said drugs were found and are being processed.
