Former Peach County head coach Chad Campbell taking over as Westfield's head football coach

Campbell recently retired from his duties at Peach County High School, where he compiled a record of 168-38.

PERRY, Ga. — Soon after announcing his retirement from Peach County High School, legendary football coach Chad Campbell quickly found a new home.

Campbell will take over as head coach at the Westfield School in Perry, beginning in the 2023 season.

He will assume duties on January 1, 2023, replacing current head coach Rob Fitzpatrick, who will step down from football to focus on duties as Westfield’s head baseball coach.

“We greatly appreciate Coach Rob Fitzpatrick for his service and look forward to his continued efforts in our athletic program,” Westfield Head of School William Carroll said in a release. “We are excited to have Coach Campbell heading up our football program and know that his experience and success will be a great asset. We believe he will continue the excitement and energy that Coach Fitzpatrick brought to our football program, and we look forward to having Coach Campbell at Westfield.”

Campbell compiled an overall record of 168-38 during his 30-year career at Peach County, winning a state championship in 2009, and finishing as state runner-up in 2011, 2017, and 2018.

Westfield finished the 2022 season with a 5-6 overall record. The Hornets lost to Tattnall in the first round of the GIAA 4A state playoffs, 56-21.
