MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – Authorities in Minneapolis are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information related to a Saturday fire at a vacant and condemned Minneapolis apartment complex.
A National Response Team from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has been called in to help state and local agencies investigate the four-story building on South Lyndale Avenue, which collapsed in the blaze.
The ATF is called in to provide resources such as excavating equipment to dismantle the wreckage and uncover evidence in large-scale investigations such as this one.
The owner of the building owns another vacant property in the city that had a fire earlier this fall.
Agents in charge of the investigation say nothing has been ruled out in terms of the origin and cause of the fire and they hope to expedite the investigation by offering the reward. Anyone with information about this incident or identification of the individuals who may be involved is asked to contact the ATF tip line. Call 888-ATF-TIPS (888-283-8477), email ATFTips@atf.gov or submit information anonymously via www.ReportIt.com or the Report It mobile app. When using Report It, select “ATF – St. Paul Field Division” as the reporting agency.
