SPRINGFIELD – A local man has pleaded guilty to federal drug distribution charges in Springfield.
Johanny Torres-Rojas, 56, of Worcester, pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and one count of distribution of and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl.
According to federal prosecutors, Torres-Rojas distributed drugs to a confidential source at or outside a Goodwill Store on three occasions. On Nov. 20 and Nov. 26, 2019, Torres-Rojas allegedly distributed fentanyl pills to a confidential source. On Jan. 13, 2020, he allegedly distributed fentanyl and methamphetamine to the confidential source.
Prosecutors say Torres-Rojas distributed approximately 835 grams of pills containing methamphetamine and 102 grams of pills containing fentanyl.
The charges of distribution of and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine provide for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, at least three years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $1 million.
