  • Georgia's Lt. Gov. is placing the blame on Donald Trump for Herschel Walker's Senate loss.

  • Walker lost to Sen. Raphael Warnock who just won his second term in the US Senate.

Georgia's Republican lieutenant governor is blaming former President Donald Trump for Sen. Raphael Warnock's Tuesday night Senate seat win

"If we don't take our medicine here, it's our fault," Geoff Duncan said on CNN. "Every Republican in this country ought to hold Donald Trump accountable for this."

Walker's son, Christian Walker, accused Trump in a Tweet Tuesday night of pressuring former football player Herschel Walker to run for Senate.

"The Truth: Trump called my dad for months DEMANDING that he run," Christian Walker said."Everyone with a brain begged him: 'PLEASE DON'T DO THIS. This is too dirty, you have an insane past… PLEASE DONT DO THIS.'"

Trump avoided campaigning for Walker ahead of the runoff election.

Republican officials told the New York Times that both the Trump and Walker camps agreed that a Georgia visit from the former president could be politically risky for Walker.

Warnock faced off against Walker in a runoff election for Georgia's second senate seat Tuesday night.

Warnock — who is projected to win by over 51% of the vote compared to Walker's over 48% — will be embarking on his second term in the Senate.

"The only way to explain this is candidate quality," Duncan told CNN.
