2 fatal accidents shut I-95 north Wednesday morning in Harford County
Maryland State Police are investigating two fatal crashes Wednesday morning on Interstate 95 in Harford County.Troopers were called around 6:45 a.m. to I-95 north at Maryland Route 543 in Belcamp for a report of a five-vehicle crash. Investigators said a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling north on I-95 in the left lane when it crossed over the yellow line and hit two tractor-trailers on the left shoulder. The Chevrolet then spun back into the road and was struck by another tractor-trailer.The driver of the Chevrolet, Caprice N. Davis, 27, of Elizabeth, New Jersey died at the scene.Police said a second crash occurred at about 8:35 a.m. on I-95 north at Maryland Route 24 in Edgewood. Investigators said a 2021 Subaru Forester was travelling north on I-95 when the driver rear-ended a dump truck. She died at the scene.I-95 north was closed for about five hours as a result of the crashes. The cause of each crash remains under investigation.
