The UPenn female swim team is actually female again

.

The University of Akron’s Zippy Invitational swim meet occurred last week, and it was quite a different scene than it had been a year ago. Seven collegiate swim teams, male and female, competed against each other in the annual NCAA swim meet. But unlike a year ago, there weren’t any men competing as women.

The Zippy Invitational was the swim meet where Lia Thomas, the transgender swimmer from the University of Pennsylvania, dominated. Thomas’s presence forced the world to have a conversation about men competing as women in women’s sports.

LIA THOMAS IS NOT A WOMAN AND SHOULD NOT BE HONORED AS ONE

As the best man in a pool full of women, Thomas swam to All-Ivy and All-American honors in women’s swimming. The incident catapulted the Ivy League school’s female swim team into the national spotlight. Some of Penn’s female swimmers were sufficiently brainwashed or cowed by social and school pressure into thinking that a man competing as a woman was fair competition. Many others were against Thomas swimming as a woman but were forced to accept it.

However, this year, the Penn women’s swimming team is all-female again.

But expect more Lia Thomases. Sadly, many highly educated adults, entrusted with protecting female sports and providing women the opportunity of fair athletic competition, will once again succumb to the radical mob and allow male athletes to compete with women.

It will be just as wrong, and the next time it happens, our society must fight to reject it.

Men do not have the right to compete as women in anything. Men are men; women are women. College-aged women don’t deserve to lose opportunities because a man believes he is a woman. And anyone who has an issue with that statement is part of the problem.

One can be sympathetic to transgender people yet realize they do not deserve special treatment and are not entitled to take opportunities away from others because of how they identify. We should strive for equality, and that means making things fair for everyone. A man can identify as a girl as much as he wants to, but in an athletic competition, he should compete against his fellow biological men.

No matter what liberals, leftists, and Democrats try to do, we must make sure that women’s sports are and remain female.
