OKLAHOMA CITY — UPDATE (12/7/22 11:30 A.M.) — The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board did not recommend clemency for death row inmate Scott Eizember on Wednesday.
The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board will hold a clemency hearing for a death row inmate Wednesday morning.
Scott Eizember, 61, was convicted of killing an elderly couple, in Depew, in 2003. He also attacked two others and assaulted a young woman.
The Oklahoma Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty gathered Monday to ask for clemency for Eizember.
According to the clemency petition, Eizember’s crimes were unplanned and impulsive. The petition also states Eizember’s prison records show he has the most favorable security rating available to an inmate living on Oklahoma’s death row.
The hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. in Oklahoma City. Eizember is scheduled to be executed on Jan. 12 if clemency is denied.
