The automotive supplier will expand their large footprint in Pell City .
The company arrived in 2005 with about 80 jobs, now two decades later they will employ over 300 people.
Jason Roberts with the Economic Development Council said it's a testament to the workforce in Central Alabama.
"The talent base has continue to grow over the last 20 years, so the skill level and the skill set are more abundant then they were when Mercedes first came."
The state's history of automotive production as a major economic driver made pell city the perfect place to invest.
Melvin Rodgers has worked at Eissmann Automotive in Pell City since 2016. He thinks the company's expansion is good for the area.
"It's always good for any city to have an operation like this, especially one that's expanding at the rate that they are because we always need growth. It helps out your wallet," said Rodgers.
Eissman is global automotive company with 13 locations worldwide.
Jason Roberts with St. Clair County's Economic Development Council is thrilled they're choosing to bring their newest equipment and production line to central alabama.
"If you have an older plant, that doesn't have the newest and best technology it of course is the first one on the chopping block," said Roberts.
He says this $3.4 million investment from Eissman shows other companies St. Clair County and Pell City are open for business.“We’re in the business of recruiting industry and companies to our region here in Saint Clair county. One of the questions that comes up quickly, is are your companies growing? Are they successful? Will they be successful here? And yes, this is a great sign that they are."
More jobs, more people. it all builds on each other. The more economic activity, the more attractive the area is to further investment.
Roberts says the expansion will impact people in ways they may not even realize.
"Proximity will reduce shipping cost, and time to delivery it is in everyone's best interest that be proximity," said Roberts.
