Dodgers Rumors: Scott Boras Talks Carlos Correa in LA and Astros Connection

There was a new star of the show at the MLB Winter Meetings on Tuesday, and his name is Scott Boras.

Boras had quite the crowd gathered around him, as he spoke about the many top free agents he represents this offseason. One of those is shortstop Carlos Correa, who has polarized Dodger fans this offseason.

Some fans want the Dodgers to add Correa, as he would provide the energy and spark this team was missing in last year’s postseason. He also, of course, is one of the best shortstops in all of baseball.

On the other end of the spectrum, however, is the fans who don’t want anything to do with him, as he was a member of the 2017 Astros who cheated the Dodgers out of a World Series victory.

On Tuesday, Boras told dodgersnation.com that he didn’t think Correa’s past would be an issue if he joined the Dodgers.

“Fans care about winning. They care about winning the right way, and I think anyone who knows Carlos Correa understands his leadership and his commitment and skill level he brings.”

The Dodgers No. 1 goal next season is to win. It’s as simple as that. After their way-too-early exit in the 2022 postseason, expectations have never been higher for this team to succeed.

After winning 111 games, and losing in the NLDS, the 2022 Dodgers were one of the most disappointing teams in MLB history. Their job this offseason is to address every possible need that will allow them to succeed come next year’s postseason. If that means signing a player who has become a villain to a good amount of the fan base, then so be it. Winning will cure everything.

  1. If addressing every possible need means allowing most of the best free agents in decades to go to others, they have done so. They don’t need Judge. They need 1-2 aces, great relievers, SS and 3rd and center. They have done ZERO. ?!!?! Why ?!?!? I am a fan since 1954. They can afford to get the best.at every position and lock in the world Series. No excuses, please.

  2. it’s happening dodgers fans, CC is coming to help and bring stability and a winning attitude. CC checks all the boxes! winning another WSCS is primary for next season. so no if’s, and’s, or but’s about it.

  3. Why would any player want to come to LA with Roberts? The new hotspot is in Texas or San Diego. Both have outstanding managers and mngt that wants to win it all right now. Dodgers could have signed Trea immediately after the Choke job to the Pads. They could have signed their best pitcher in Anderson, they could have went after Degrom,Verlander, etc. The should have been dynasty is over and the most important clutch players like Seager, Hernandez Joc are all gone. Kersh JT, Chris Taylor, Muncy have all taken steps backwards, no Kenley etc. This team needs a over haul and a new youth movement to win another WS. The Dodgers mngt doesn’t really care if they win the series as they draw 4 million a year anyways. They could put daffy duck as the manager and it would be no different than the elmer fudd they already have.

  4. Well, Boras is right about this: Carlos Correa is a highly skilled player, and fans care about winning the right way. Now, tell me, Scott, did Correa win the right way, hmm?
