The Wranglers are the 'real McCoy'.
Through 20 games this season, the Wranglers boast a record of 13-6-1, finishing a fast-paced November with four-straight wins. As December descends, it has become increasingly evident that this team is deep.
Like, really deep.
From top-to-tail, this Wranglers roster is receiving elite level contributions from all positions, up and down the lineup.

It's one thing to have depth, it's another thing to manage it effectively. Head coach Mitch Love and his staff have done an admirable job doing that thus far.
The bar was set very high to start the season, and the coaches have maintained open lines of communication with their players, while keeping practices focused and fun. It's curating chemistry and comradery, which is translating into success.
Secondary scoring has been productive, as well. Radim Zohorna has two goals, two assists in his last two games and Walker Duehr has points in four-straight, with four goals, one assist. Matthew Phillips, Jakob Pelletier, Connor Zary and Ben Jones are each averaging over a point-per-game so far this season.
Jones attributes the recent success to the positive energy around the group this season; in the locker room and on the ice. Of course, winning helps with that. But there is more to it than just winning games and scoring goals. It comes down to focusing on, and perfecting, the finer details of the game as a group.
"I think it's more of a focus on us. We're playing good hockey," explains Jones. "We know what we need to do to play the hockey that's going to help us win. I think our record in our last ten games shows that we know how to win games now."
"It's kind of our identity and we're just going to try and stick with that."

RECENT RESULTS:

MAGICAL MATTHEW:

Phillips is the most potent offensive player in the league, leading the AHL in both goals (15, T-1) and points (30). Phillips was named the AHL Player of the Week and the AHL Player of the Month, with nine goals, nine assists (18 Pts.) in 12 games during November. He seems to be finding another gear, continuing to rack up points, while almost toying with opposing netminders with cat-like precision.
Phillips is humble, hard-working and he's having lots of fun right now. When asked about his recent league honour, he preferred to focus on the team's efforts as a whole.
"It's nice; it was a fun week of hockey. We played four solid games," Phillips expressed. "I think it's just a reflection of our team playing really good hockey lately."
Phillips is often seen donning an ear-to-ear grin while he's around the rink. He is also consistently one of the last guys off the ice at practice.
"I think it all goes hand-in-hand," he explained. "We like to have fun together and we all get along really well. I think (when) practising, if you can maybe laugh a little bit and make some noise here and there, it makes it more enjoyable and it just pushes everyone to have fun and be better."

ONE-TIMERS:

QUOTABLE:

Dennis Gilbert on takeaways from his time with Flames in November:
"Every time you're up you learn some new things from different guys. Obviously, having a chance to be in a locker-room with some pretty established pros, like Chris Tanev on the back-end especially, you just learn how to be a pro and take some of those habits that those guys bring into their everyday routine and bring it back here."
Jones on the mindset around the team:
"When you're playing well you're feeling good, emotions are high and guys are just happy to be here. Winning feels great so (we're) just looking to keep that going."
