The Chicago Bulls are struggling badly to start the 2022-23 NBA season without many appearances of hope to contend for a title. The Brooklyn Nets aren’t much better off, but they are still committed to winning with Kevin Durant. Could there be room for a trade?

Any NBA basketball purist will be quick to remind you that there are two sides of the floor. Sure, offense gets the glory – but defense counts too. If you can’t stop another team from scoring, it probably won’t matter how much you can score. 

Usually, the best NBA teams have a balance of both. That requires them to field a balanced roster. A team can afford to play a one-way player, but they’ll have to compensate for their shortcomings elsewhere. 

We’re not saying Ben Simmons is a one-way player. His passing ability does provide offensive value. However, his inability to shoot does make him limited on that end of the floor.

With that said, he is one of the best defenders in the NBA. By contrast, Nikola Vucevic is a great offensive player who struggles on defense.
