DETROIT (WWJ) – A man who Detroit police say shot someone in Greektown last month over an elevator dispute has been arrested in Ohio.

Authorities had been searching for the suspect since the shooting on Nov. 27 at 400 Monroe, near the Fishbones restaurant.

Detroit police officials said Tuesday he was taken into custody in Ohio, but did not specify where. The suspect, whose name has not been released, will be extradited to Michigan for formal charges.

Speaking at a press conference the day after the shooting, Detroit Police Chief James White said the shooting happened on the eighth floor of the building after an argument, which “seemed to involve one person’s ability to hold the elevator for him.”

Authorities have not released any information about the victim, or what exactly happened in the moments leading up to the shooting.

No other information regarding the case has been released, but Detroit police are thanking the community for tips that helped lead to the suspect’s arrest.
