Minervini's Pizzeria in the New Haven County town of Wallingford has officially closed, the owners announced in a message to customers on Friday, Dec. 2.

"As most of you must have noticed we’ve been closed to do some renovations," the announcement reads. "After running into some costly repairs we’ve decided that we just can’t put any more into it. It’s been difficult with the rising costs of food, utilities and finding workers. So unfortunately we had to make a decision."

The pizzeria, located at 73 Quinnipiac St., offered a selection of specialty pies, pasta dishes, and subs.

The owners added that they will miss their customers.

"Wallingford has been our business home for 12 years," they said. "We made lots of friends who we considered family and we would like to thank everyone for your support."
