The trio advances to the AVCA All-America ballot

LEXINGTON, Kentucky - Marquette University's Yadhira Anchante, Aubrey Hamilton and Carsen Murray have each earned AVCA All-East Region honors, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday morning.

All three were part of one of the nation's top offenses during the 2022 regular season as the Golden Eagles led the BIG EAST Conference and ranked in the top-10 nationally in hitting percentage, kills and assists.

Anchante was named the BIG EAST Setter of the Year in her first season in Milwaukee and along with Murray was a unanimous All-BIG EAST Team selection. The native of Lima, Peru ranks 18th nationally with 10.89 assists per set and is second on MU with 2.78 digs per frame. She was a two-time NJCAA National Player of the Year during her two seasons at Iowa Western before arriving at MU.

Hamilton was selected to the All-BIG EAST Championship Team for her play over Thanksgiving weekend and continued her torrid postseason pace into the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament. The Hartland, Wisconsin native led Marquette in both kills (3.52 per set) and points (4.08), while hitting .257 on nearly 1,000 swings.

Murray rose to as high as third nationally this season in hitting percentage and currently leads the Golden Eagles with a mark of .428, which is one-thousandths of a percentage point off the program record of .429 recorded by Rabbecka Gonyo in 2010. She is also Marquette's block leader this season with 1.10 per set.

It is the eighth time at least three Golden Eagles have been honored in a single year.

The trio advances to the AVCA All-America ballot, the results of which will be revealed on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
