Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" conquered the Billboard Global 200 chart again weeks before Christmas day.

Every year since 1994, Carey's fans have been playing her first-holiday album ahead of Christmastime. One of its songs, "All I Want for Christmas Is You," remains timeless nearly three decades after its release.

Most recently, Billboard confirmed that the song jumped from No. 5 to No. 1 on its Global 100 chart, marking its ninth total week on the top spot since the chart was created in 2020.

The music magazine ranks songs in the Global 200 chart based on streaming and sales activities in more than 200 countries globally. It includes worldwide data, including statistics from the US.

Carey's song saw a whopping increase in streams and sales, recording 64.5 million streams (47 percent increase) and 8,000 sales (62 percent increase).

"All I Want for Christmas Is You" scored more accolades in the past years, including three Guinness World Records - most weeks in the U.K. singles Top 10 chart that a Christmas song reaches, the highest-charting Christmas song on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 sang by a solo artist, and the most streamed song via Spotify in 24 hours.

Amid the continuous holiday success of "All I Want for Christmas Is You," reports revealed that Carey earns millions of dollars from the song alone every year.

A news outlet quoted The Economist's 2016 report, revealing that the track earned over $60 million in royalties since Carey dropped it. Meanwhile, Broadband Deals estimates that the song scored $2 million in royalties from Spotify alone.

"All I Want for Christmas Is You" ultimately became the best-selling Christmas single by a female artist. It also scored the title for best-selling Christmas song in music history after selling over 16 million copies around the globe.

"I know it's corny, and I don't care. I don't need something else to validate the existence of this song. I used to pick it apart whenever I listened to it, but at this point, I feel like I'm finally able to enjoy it," Carey once said.

Celebrity Net Worth revealed that, with the data collected in the past years, it is safe to say that the song generates around $2 million to $4 million in royalties every year.
