GRAND CHUTE - Authorities have released the name of a 55-year-old Grand Chute man who was found dead in his South Olson Avenue duplex with his dog during a Nov. 27 fire.

The Grand Chute Fire Department on Tuesday morning identified the man as Torrence R. Morgan. The department said the fire started in the kitchen, but the cause was still being determined. Later Tuesday, the department said the fire was accidental, with no evidence of suspicious activity.

Damage to the home was extensive in the kitchen and living room and the home is likely to be a complete loss, the department said, adding that the status of the other half of the duplex is unknown.

The State Fire Marshal's Office in the Wisconsin Department of Justice is still investigating the incident, as is standard practice after a fatal fire.
