HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Since 1971, there’s been a restaurant in downtown Hastings that’s been a staple for folks to enjoy delicious food and good times.

It was then in 1971, when Jamison Murphy’s grandparents started ‘Murphy’s Wagon Wheel’, and the rest was history.

“My dad really pushed hard in his early years to get his name out doing catering and other things to be involved in the community,” said Murphy.

When Jamison Murphy took over the family business in 2011, he strived to continue to improve the quality you get when you eat at Murphy’s.

“I appreciate that, but we also work hard to have that standard stay high for the community,” explained Murphy. “That they can always rely on us to have good food, good service continuing going forward.”

Serving up your normal bar food, there’s a twist that most folks may not have known about.

“Everything’s wood-fired. We smoke in house all of our woods from Nevada, Missouri. It’s all hickory and we get it about once a month. Burgers, wings, the typical bar food but we just try to put a little different twist with the wood flavor and the smoking in house,” Murphy said.
