Rockford teen shot in the face, another injured, car riddled with bullets

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – Police are searching for the shooter who pulled the trigger on two men Monday night in Rockford.

Around 11:50 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the 1300 block of S. 6th Street for a reported shooting. As they were en route, another report came in of a shooting on the 2100 block of 7th Street, where a car had crashed behind a residence, police said.

When officers arrived, they found a bullet-riddled blue SUV with heavy damage, an 18-year-old teen with a gunshot wound to the face, and a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his ankle. Another teen boy and a teen girl were also present.

Both victims were taken to local hospitals, and police said the extent of the injuries was not thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been announced yet in this investigation.
