LYNX - Healthcare In The Digital Age: Consumers See Unified Platforms As Key To Better Health - Learn how consumers use digital platforms to manage their healthcare services and benefits

Seventy-nine percent of consumers want to pay all their medical bills with the same digital platform they use for other healthcare-related needs. Consumer interest in this capability is on the upswing, just as healthcare technology enables better access to information about insurance coverage, medical care and financial details.

Given the clear consumer interest in these expanded capabilities, the question is which healthcare providers, financial institutions or technology companies are prepared to come to the market with these platforms.

In “Healthcare In The Digital Age: Consumers See Unified Platforms As Key To Better Health,” a PYMNTS and Lynx collaboration, we surveyed 2,515 United States consumers to determine their interest in using digital platforms to manage their healthcare services and benefits.

Some of our findings include the following:

92%: Share of consumers who faced problems while paying healthcare expenses and are at least somewhat interested in using a unified digital platform for managing their healthcare needs.

91%: Portion of consumers who encountered problems using their healthcare services or insurance benefits and are at least somewhat interested in a unified digital platform for managing their healthcare needs.

72%: Share of consumers who want a platform that helps them arrange financing options for their medical bills.

Healthcare is joining the long list of industries in which the economy’s digital shift has taken hold. Consumers are eagerly gravitating toward the products and services that increase convenience and help them access services and treatment.
