Bring on the holidays (and beer) in Canandaigua: Sights and sounds from 'Get Lit'

CANANDAIGUA — Canandaigua's craft brewers and their beer-loving fans got into the holiday spirit on Saturday night.

The Twisted Rail, Young Lion, Frequentum and Peacemaker Brewing Companies each erected Christmas trees made from empty beer kegs and flipped the switch on their lights as part of the first Get Lit in Canandaigua event.

Customers at Twisted Rail Brewing Co. try to stay warm during the keg tree lighting event Saturday, Get Lit in Canandaigua.

The tree-lighting festivities were modeled after Genesee Brewery's annual keg tree lighting event in Rochester. Several of the breweries introduced special holiday beer for the event, including Young Lion's eggnog ale.

Young Lion Brewing made a Buffalo Bills-themed keg tree, which was lit up Saturday.

The fun times will extend the holidays as many of the same breweries and others will be participating in the third annual Stout Month in January 2023.

Get Lit in Canandaigua was a time for celebrating the holidays, enjoying local craft beer and picture taking.
