Flower Lovers

Posted

The Flower Lovers had a great turnout for its Nov. 2 meeting at St. John’s. Live fall bouquets decorated the tables along with pumpkin placemats by artist in residence, Teresa Huxhold.

Karen Cook opened the meeting with a prayer followed by fall treats, including pumpkin bread, charcuterie and home-grown and home-made black raspberry cobbler and beverages.

Nancy Bowes and the nominating committed presented the 2023 slate of officers. They are: Cook, president; Denise Ducharme, vice presidetn; Mary Laube, secretary; Lana Presslor, treasurer; and Annette Emerson, historian. All members voted in favor of the new officers. Thank you so much to the nominating committee.

Terri Trinkle described the downtown pot selection for 2023. They will all have pink canna, lavender calibrachoa, pink supertunia and yellow suberbells. Pot caretakers may add more plants as desired. We do plan to plant pansies this spring. Trinkle, Paula Furr and Dianne Fairfield will chair the downtown pots for 2023.

November hostesses were Laube, Huxhold, Myrna Slinker and Marty Heinold. Reservations and dues for next year were collected and Cook reminded members to have their garden related wrapped gift ready for the 11 a.m. Dec. 7 party at the Crawfordsville Country Club. The menu will be a buffet of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, rolls, pecan and pumpkin pie.
