(WWJ) – An investigation is underway and a family wants answers after an SUV had its tires and rims stolen from a parking garage at Detroit Metro Airport last month.

A post making the rounds on Facebook shows a Jeep Wagoneer on blocks inside the Big Blue Deck at DTW, a parking garage attached to the airport. Angela Hebeka explains in the post that her husband found the SUV on blocks after returning from vacation last week.

The post says insurance is paying for a loan car for 30 days, but they are still waiting for new rims to come in and said “on top of the trauma we had to STILL pay for parking.”

“I debated posting this or not, however I can’t shake the feeling of wanting to prevent others from having to go through this,” the post says.

“I doubt we were the only victims,” the post concludes.

While the post serves as a warning for others, airport spokesperson Erica Donerson tells WWJ this is the only reported incident of tire or rim theft in the airport parking lot in the last six months.

Donerson did confirm the Airport Authority Police Department received the report on Nov. 28, and said the incident is still under investigation. At this time, a suspect has not been identified, she said.
