Granddaughter of Pampa Residents writing in Hollywood

Erika Vazquez graduated from Tufts University in Boston in 2015 with a degree in International Literary and Visual Studies. But before that, she visited Pampa every summer to spend time with her grandparents Maragaret and Edgar Sweet, long time Pampa residents. Edgar served as the last President of Security Federal Savings & Loan, which stands today as The Vault for First Baptist Church.

Erika has always loved writing and grew up writing short films and sketches with her elementary school friends. Erika would act in them, so they have all been conveniently “lost”.

Her senior year of college, she and her roommate Siena Butterfield attended a panel about TV writing and production. They had a shared epiphany, became a writing duo, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue the dream of writing for television.

Erika and Siena have written the episode of the popular TV show, CSI - Las Vegas airing on December 8 pm CBS at 9 pm
