The incident happened in Enfield during the early morning hours of Monday, Dec. 5, the Enfield Police Department said.

An officer was on patrol and saw a vehicle running in the parking lot of an area hotel that had a misuse of registration plates and was later found to be stolen, police reported.

After "numerous attempts to provide a fake identification," police discovered the driver's identity and learned that the driver had several active warrants, authorities said.

Authorities reported recovering 28 grams of methamphetamine, eight grams of powdered cocaine, along with scales and packaging materials.

The driver and passenger, whose identities were not released, were arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to sell, police said.
