Syracuse, N.Y. — Looking for a stocking stuffer for that diehard foodie in your household? Two local restaurant advocates had you in mind when they came up with a gift that will help local eateries while raising money for the United Way.
Bud Loura, a local dining industry consultant at Restaurant QB, has teamed with Anthony Tringale from Eat Local New York to create Foodie Gift Packs. Each $120 bundle includes four $25 gift cards to locally owned restaurants and one chip for a beer at an area brewery. It also comes with a 2023 Eat Local New York card, a rewards card that knocks $5 off any bill over $25 from 140 restaurants, breweries, coffee shops and bakeries.
The restaurant business usually slows down after the holiday season, so Loura and Tringale said they created this program to feed money into the local food industry.
They are donating $1,000 of the proceeds to the United Way of Central New York. There are eight packages to choose from:
» Gift Pack 1: Gift cards to Scotch n Sirloin, Sal’s Pizza, Papa Gallo and Café Kubal, along with a beer chip to Buried Acorn Brewing Company.
» Gift Pack 2: Gift cards to a mano, The Evergreen, Arad Evans and Ma & Pa’s Kettle Corn, along with a beer chip to Buried Acorn Brewing Company.
» Gift Pack 3: Gift cards to Pastabilities, Shifty’s, Kasai and Rocky’s Pub, along with a beer chip to Middle Ages Brewing Company.
» Gift Pack 4: Gift cards to Kitty Hoynes, Home Team Pub, Chelsea’s and The Cracked Bean Roastery, along with a beer chip to Willow Rock Brewing Company.
» Gift Pack 5: Gift cards to The Brasserie, Trappers II, Nestico’s Too and 317 @ Montgomery Street, along with a beer chip to Buried Acorn Brewing Company.
» Gift Pack 6: Gift cards to Santangelo’s, Viccino’s Brick n Brew, Twin Trees III and 3-1-Fried, along with a beer chip to Heritage Hill.
» Gift Pack 7: Gift cards to Jake Hafner’s, Limp Lizard BBQ (Syracuse and North Syracuse locations), San Miguel’s and Al’s Whiskey Bar, along with a beer chip to Talking Cursive Brewing Company.
» Gift Pack 8: Gift cards to Chubby’s, Lock 1 Distilling, R Diner and Mimi’s Drive-in, along with a beer chip to Lock 1 Distilling.
