Mom of 4-year-old shot dead in Pittsburgh was set to go on trial for separate shooting in January
The search continued Monday for the person who shot and killed a 4-year-old girl in Pittsburgh's Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood.
Kaari Thompson died after being taken to the hospital.
Her family remembered her Sunday night while holding a balloon release at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Lemington Avenue right near where those shots rang out on Thursday.
Watch Westinghouse Academy's football coach discuss the impact of Kaari's death on the team.
The shooting also left Kaari's mother, Temani Lewis, in critical condition.
Pittsburgh's Action News 4 has learned Lewis was set to go on trial in January for her connection to a shooting that left two people injured.
That shooting happened back in August on Stranahan Street in Pittsburgh's Homewood North neighborhood.
Lewis was charged with aggravated assault and attempted homicide.
She posted a $50,000 bond.
