BALTIMORE — Baltimore City Police confirmed that 19-year-old Jaymyra Burrell, who was shot and killed on Sunday morning, was pregnant.
Officers responded to the 5600 block of Woodmont Avenue for reports of a shooting.
Medical officials transported the victim to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives have assumed the investigation.
This is the second report of a pregnant woman being shot and killed this year.
The first came in May when a 38-year-old woman and her boyfriend were shot and killed in North Baltimore.
Many question if the case would be tried as a double homicide if or when a suspect is brought in, Maryland has outlined the protocol involving such circumstances.
