The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect who assaulted and robbed a US Postal Service Letter Carrier.
The robbery occurred near the intersection of N Willamette Blvd and N Gay Ave at approximately 6:25 p.m. on November 30.
The suspect stole the letter carrier's postal cargo, then pepper sprayed the carrier and a nearby resident who tried to give chase.
There had been several calls from different people in the preceding minutes to the assault that someone was stealing packages from the porches of houses.
The suspect is described as a male between 5'9" and 5'10" with a slim build. The suspect was wearing black clothing, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black backpack.
The suspect fled the scene on foot headed west towards N Delaware Ave. The mail carrier was checked by medical responders and was not seriously injured.
