A convicted felon faces several charges after authorities say they found him with a handgun and narcotics during a traffic stop.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) says deputies arrested 35-year-old Victor Castaneda on December 1st.
HCSO says they got a tip that Castaneda was in possession of narcotics and weapons. Officers stopped him on the 7300 block of Shallowford Road. HCSO says they found a weapon inside his car.
Castaneda was arrested and charged with driving on a revoked, suspended or cancelled driver license, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and a window tint violation.
HCSO says deputies then searched Castaneda's home on Rhinehart Road, and found about 61 grams of fentanyl pills, four additional weapons, and a little over $1,800. The weapons, drugs and money were all seized "in accordance with State and Federal guidelines," HCSO says.
“This investigation, arrest, and subsequent seizure of weapons and narcotics highlights the ongoing, daily efforts of our personnel to remove dangerous narcotics and weapons from our community. If you are going to bring this poison into our county, we are focused on finding you as we are committed to removing the illegal distribution of deadly Fentanyl which is destroying lives and families across our county, state and nation,” said Hamilton County Sheriff Austin Garrett.
