BACK TO YOU. THANKS, JEFF. HAPPENING TODAY, GENERAL STEVE MARSHALL WILL NOW GIVE UPDATE ON EXECUTIONS IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA. WVTM 13 MATTIE DAVIS HAS BEEN FOLLOWING THIS STORY FOR US. MATTIE, THAT ANNOUNCEMENT FOLLOWS SOME RECENTLY CALLED OFF LETHAL INJECTIONS. WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT? WHAT HAPPENED WITH THESE? WELL, KARLA GOVERNOR KAY IVEY URGED, THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, TO DO A QUOTE TOP TO BOTTOM REVIEW OF ALABAMA’S EXECUTION PROTOCOL FOLLOWING, MULTIPLE FAILED ATTEMPTS. NOW, ATTEMPTS INCLUDE THE MOST RECENT, WHICH WAS KENNETH MILLER’S SCHEDULED LETHAL INJECTION IN NOVEMBER. IT WAS HALTED BECAUSE OFFICIALS COULDN’T ESTABLISH AN IV LINE BEFORE MIDNIGHT DEADLINE. THEN IN SEPTEMBER, ALAN MILLER EXECUTION WAS HALTED FOR THE SAME REASON. TODAY’S EXECUTION UPDATE A SETTLEMENT APPROVED IN MILLER’S EXECUTION. THE STATE AGREED TO NEVER USE A LETHAL INJECTION ON MILLER AGAIN. ANY OTHER ATTEMPTS WOULD HAVE TO BE BY NITROGEN, WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN USED AN EXECUTION. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall plans to give an update on executions on Monday following a halt issued by Gov. Kay Ivey.Gov. Ivey called for a "top-to-bottom" review of the state's execution protocols after multiple failed execution attempts.The most recent failed attempt was Kenneth Smith's lethal injection scheduled in November. It was halted because officials couldn't establish an IV line by the midnight deadline.The update is expected during a news conference in Montgomery at 1 p.m.

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall plans to give an update on executions on Monday following a halt issued by Gov. Kay Ivey.

Gov. Ivey called for a "top-to-bottom" review of the state's execution protocols after multiple failed execution attempts.

The most recent failed attempt was Kenneth Smith's lethal injection scheduled in November. It was halted because officials couldn't establish an IV line by the midnight deadline.

The update is expected during a news conference in Montgomery at 1 p.m.
