Nothing stirs up excitement about the Pennsylvania Farm Show like a new food.
This year, the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association is shaking things up with a new milkshake flavor to celebrate its 70th year selling the sweet treats at the Farm Show.
And, the new limited-edition shake is ... orange cream.
Ahead of the annual Farm Show, which kicks off Jan. 7, you can sample the Dairymen’s new flavor and even land a free shake. The organization is hosting several birthday pop-up events at central Pennsylvania grocery stores throughout December.
Here’s where it gets exciting. The first 50 people in line at the pop-ups are eligible to receive one free milkshake (thanks to support from Renewal by Andersen of Central PA and other sponsors).
It’s an annual tradition for the Dairymen to sell vanilla, chocolate and mix milkshakes as well as fried mozzarella cheese cubes, cheese stix, grilled cheese sandwiches, ice cream and white and chocolate milk during the Farm Show.
Through the sales, the organization raises proceeds to support programs including Fill A Glass With Hope, PA Farm Bureau Mobile Ag Education Lab and PA Dairy Princess and Promotion Program.
The 2023 Farm Show runs Jan. 7-14 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg under the theme “Rooted in Progress.” The food court opens a day early at noon, Jan. 6.
This is not the first year the Dairymen have sold a limited-edition shake flavor. Last year, the group sold black raspberry, while in 2016 members rolled out a strawberries and cream.
