A 52-year-old Solway man was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison after a meth trafficking investigation.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the investigation into the organization began in late 2019.
Trent Holden was stopped once in February 2020 around Park Rapids with one pound of methamphetamine in a tow truck and later released.
That March, Holden was stopped on a trip between the Twin Cities and Bemidji with five pounds of meth.
Holden was charged in state court and later released from custody.
In Sept. 2021, Holden was again stopped with nearly 3 pounds of methamphetamine in a Dodge Neon he was towing.
Last May, Holden pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force, the FBI Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force, the Hubbard and Beltrami County Sheriff’s Offices, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and U.S. Customs & Border Protection conducted the investigation.
