State police released new details on Monday about a school van crash that sent three children to the hospital.
The crash happened a little before 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 22 along Mount Pleasant Road in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County.
State police said the van had stopped for a school bus and had its red flashing lights activated when another vehicle hit it from behind.
A 72-year-old man on the school van and three children, all eight years old, were taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuries.
A 66-year-old woman on the van also suffered a suspected minor injury.
The 25-year-old man driving the second vehicle involved was not hurt.
Police said that driver will be cited for following too closely.
