>> IT’S WHAT THE HOMEOWNERS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH AFTER COMING BACK FROM A LONG VACATION HOUSE EXTREMELY DAMAGED FROM A HOUSE FIRE. PLANES TEARING THROUGH THIS TWO━STORY HOME. ACCELERATING SO FAST THAT THEY STRETCHED TO THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR. >> IT LOOK LIKE THE FOURTH OF JULY LIKE THE WHOLE STREET WAS LIT UP POLICE HAD STARTED PULLING UP AND THEY WERE BANGING ON MY DOOR >> CHARLES TURNER WALKING US THROUGH HIS MORNING AS THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR HAD EXTENSIVE EXTERIOR DAMAGE >> I HAVE A DOG AND A CAT WE WERE RESTING IN THE BED AND MY DOG STARTED BARKING HEARD A LOT OF COMMOTION GOING ON OUTSIDE POLICE STARTED BANGING ON MY DOOR I LOOKED OUT AND SAW THE NEIGHBORS HOUSE ON FIRE >> SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS WERE ON THE SCENE TO ASSIST THEM THE HOME SET SAID IT WAS LIKELY A TOTAL LOSS AND FORTUNATELY NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE HOMEOWNERS ARE ON A CRUISE AND RECEIVED AN ALERT THROUGH AN ALARM SYSTEM FIREFIGHTER STATED THATTHEY WERE AT THE SCENE FOR OVER FIVE HOURS >> THE FIREFIGHTERS GOT HERE AS SOON AS THEY COULD I’M HAPPY THEY SHOWED UP AND SAVE MY HOME >> HOMESTEAD FIRE CHIEF SAYS IT LIKELY STARTED AT THE ROOM UPSTAIRS AND NOT SUSPICIOUS AND WHILE TURNER WILL NEED WORK ON HIS HOME HE’S ONLY FOCUSED ON COUNTING HIS BLESSINGS >> I’M HAPPY THEY CAME TO MY DOOR AND WOKE ME UP AND THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE >> WE CAN SEE THE HOUSES GETTING BOARDED UP AND IT WILL ALSO BE CONDEMNED AND UP TO THE INSURANCE ON WHETHER OR NOT IT WILL BE TORN DO

No reports of injuries

An intense fire tore through a house in Homestead on Monday morning.The fire was reported a little before 2 a.m. at a house near the intersection of Mifflin Street and East 13th Avenue.Multiple fire crews were called to the scene.Homestead Fire Chief, Tim Eads told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that the homeowners are on vacation, so no one was in the structure when the flames began. The chief said the homeowners received an alarm alert and had the company call first responders for them.A second home was also burned by the fire and had exterior damage. Charles Turner was inside of his house with his cat and dog when he realized what was happening. "It looked like the Fourth of July," said Charles Turner, who lives in that neighboring home. "The whole street was lit up. It was sparkling and cracking. The police just started pulling up and they were banging on my door to get me outside."The Allegheny County Fire Marshal was on scene trying to determine the cause of the fire. Eads said the fire likely began in the first room, and is not considered suspicious at this point. No injuries were reported.
