Booker T Discusses Who Should Win Roman Reigns-The Rock Match If It Happens

Roman Reigns The Rock

Booker T has given his opinion about who should win a potential match between Roman Reigns and The Rock.

As the year 2022 winds down, the rumors are swirling about matches that might take place at WrestleMania 39 in April. Steve Austin had such a great showing at WrestleMania 38 that he might compete again while John Cena may be a part of the show as well after having not wrestled in a WWE ring since August 2021.

Ever since WWE announced that WrestleMania 39 would be in Los Angeles, many people believe that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson competing at that Hollywood event makes a lot of sense if Rock wants to have one final match in a WWE ring. The obvious opponent is his distant cousin, the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion known as “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns.

The latest update on The Rock’s status for WrestleMania is that WWE is considering a number of different options if the Hollywood star wants to compete. It’s possible that Rock could win the Royal Rumble to set up the match with Reigns or simply just set up before WrestleMania. There is a rumored deadline of mid-January for when WWE would like to know Rock’s plans. The ball is in The Rock’s court.

A man that The Rock once headlined SummerSlam 2001 with is Booker, who talked about a potential Reigns-Rock match on his Hall of Fame podcast. Booker mentioned what could happen if The Rock were to beat Reigns.

“I don’t know. It could be one of those things like when I won the title at Reality of Wrestling and just left it in the ring. I just had to show it. It could be one of those types of deals.”

Roman Reigns has been holding the Universal Title for over 800 days and he added the WWE Title seven months ago. In Booker’s opinion, it’s important to protect Reigns.

“Roman’s not the type of guy you want to have to build up all over again. Roman is not your regular average Joe out there doing this. I feel, as a promoter, you’ve got to protect that guy.”
