After tracking the progress of streaming platforms for over a decade, research firm Parks Associates revealed through their findings that Prime Video has knocked Netflix off of its No.1 spot as the most popular streaming platform in the country. According to Deadline, Amazon said in a statement last year that there were 200 million Prime members and since the release of Lord Of The Rings: The Rings of Power, the show has over 100 million viewers globally.

”It also gives Netflix a path to creating unique accounts for those who have been content to share passwords with friends and family in the past. It’s an exciting time to track these services, with lots of disruption and change.”

Additionally, being a Prime member includes free shipping, discounts with Whole Foods, and other benefits. As for Netflix, the company is seen a decrease in memberships within the United States due to their recent announcement of including a $7 monthly subscription plan where Netflix videos and movies will include advertisement breaks.
