A first trailer for The Grinch horror movie parody The Mean One has been released.
Set to premiere this Christmas, The Mean One stars Terrifier's David Howard Thornton in the lead role as the murderous Grinch as he terrorises Krystle Martin's (9-1-1: Lone Star) grown up Cindy.
Following the brutal death of her Mother at the hands of the Mean One, Cindy returns to town to face her fears and the festive slashing begins.

"Remember that story about Cindy you-know-who? When her Christmas was stolen she knew what to do," the trailer opens. "But what if I said that's not how it went down?"
Promising a bloody and terrifying ride, the trailer shows the deaths of Cindy's mother and father, as well as some of the townspeople.
"First he stole Christmas… Now he's back for blood," flashes across the screen in a cute and curly Dr. Seuss style font.
"Us folks down in Newville, we liked Christmas a lot, but that thing that lives just north of Newville does not," explains one member of the town to Cindy. "He's slippery, he's elusive, he's a Mean One that mister."

Directed by Steven LaMorte, the hilarious trailer shows Cindy fighting back with candy cane guns and bauble grenades as she declares: "I'm not going to be a victim anymore, time to roast this beast."
XYZ Films' Alex Williams previously opened up about the film saying: "As a passionate fan of seasonal horror, The Mean One is exactly the kind of film that lands on my personal 'nice list.'
"This movie is a stunningly great time with a ferociously subversive turn from David Howard Thornton – and XYZ Films is so proud to be bringing this soon-to-be iconic Christmas slasher to audiences this holiday season."
The Mean One will be released December 9 in the US, while a UK release is yet to be announced.
