Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is about to drop a trailer, by the looks of things.

The Into the Spider-Verse sequel's official Twitter account shared an image of Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy sitting upside down and admiring the New York City skyline, shoulders touching. Is Gwen just giving Miles a friendly nudge, or is there more to it?

We should find out in just over a week, as the caption reads: "A new view from across the #SpiderVerse coming 12.13."

Do we reckon that means we're getting a full trailer on December 13? It seems likely. We don't think they'd release a new image just to tease the reveal of another image.

It was revealed that Across the Spider-Verse is actually the first part of a duology, with the second part called Beyond the Spider-Verse and due out almost a year later.

It was recently revealed that Scott Pilgrim vs the World actor and frequent Wes Anderson collaborator Jason Schwartzman would be playing the film's villain, The Spot. Nope and Black Panther's Daniel Kaluuya has also joined the cast as Spider-Punk, while we will hear more of Oscar Isaac's Spider-Man 2099 too.

Speaking about how the film will set itself apart, co-director Christopher Miller said: "It is a very ambitious sequel because we didn't to just sort of do the same thing again.

"And so the idea that we'd be going to different dimensions really opened up an opportunity artistically to have each world have its own art style, and to be able to push the folks at [animation studio] ImageWorks to develop a way to have each dimension feel like it was drawn by a different artist's hand. Seeing the development of that stuff is breathtaking, and really, it's the reason we keep doing it because it's so hard to get it right."

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will swing into cinemas on June 2, 2023, while Beyond the Spider-Verse is set for March 29, 2023.

In his time he's covered a host of live events, interviewed celebrities big and small and crowbarred a countless amount of great/awful (delete as appropriate) puns into articles.

A big fan of TV and movies both mainstream and obscure, Joe's main interest is in video gaming. Although particularly a PlayStation gamer, he plays across Xbox, Nintendo and PC/Steam Deck, and likes to keep tabs on many games he's not got the time to play.

Joe currently does not use Twitter, but he only ever used it to tell people to watch the film Help! I'm a Fish (which you really should do).
