WORCESTER, Mass. — Union Station was packed Sunday, and while there were a few commuters mixed in, most people were looking to get their hands on some art.

The transportation hub in Worcester was the host for “StART at the Station.” It’s an arts and crafts festival inside the main hall.

This was the festival’s 15th year.

“StART at the Station” hopes to support the local economy and promote the purchase of handmade products during the holiday season.

For vendors, it’s a chance to sell their products and mingle with other vendors.

“You’ll find lots of handmade wonderful pieces here, everything from handmade mittens, from recycled sweaters, to pottery, to artwork,” said Stacy Lord, event co-director. “A little bit of everything from candles to jewelry making, its just a plethora of beautiful, wonderful handmade items.”

“It’s so nice, I’m always really proud to rep Central Mass. Whenever I travel to other places, so it’s just cool to be around all these local makers, other ceramicists as well who are really hustling in this area, so it’s been fantastic,” said Hannah Lipper of Cosmos Pottery.

This year, more than 125 artists, vendors and crafters took part.
