Orlando, fl. - The UTSA Roadrunners are headed to the 2022 Duluth Trading Cure Bowl in Orlando, Florida to take on the Troy Trojans.
The Roadrunners (11-2, 8-0 C-USA) are ranked No. 22 in both polls out Saturday, after handling North Texas 48-27 on Friday night in the C-USA Championship Game. UTSA is riding a 10-game win streak, winning 26 of their last 31 games dating back to Nov. 2020. Led by Davey O’Brien Award finalist Frank Harris, the Roadrunners offense has been torching defenses all year.
Troy (11-2, 7-1 Sun Belt) is ranked No. 23. This is the second time that Troy has been ranked in the top 25 in school history. The Trojans were perfect at home throughout the 2022-23 season for the second time in school history. Their defense ranks fifth in the nation in scoring defense, holding their opponents to an average of 17.5 points on the year.
Both the Trojans and the Roadrunners are 11-2 on the year, and this will be the only bowl out of all 41 that will feature two conference champions.
UTSA and Troy had a couple of common opponents, Troy also beat Western Kentucky and Army.
One of Troy’s two losses was to a solid Ole Miss team, so the Roadrunners will get a very good test as they are still looking for the first bowl win in UTSA history.
Tickets start at $37 and are currently on sale at CureBowl.com.
