Gerald “Jerry” Beck, 92, of Crystal City died Nov. 30, 2022, at his home. Mr. Beck was a retired a welder from LaRoche Industries who served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City and a life member of the Festus-Crystal City Elks. Born Oct. 12, 1930, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Myrtle (Thomure) and Alvin Beck.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Gloria Agnes “Tootsie” (Meyer) Beck.
He is survived by two sons: Terry Beck of Festus and Randall (Joan Wills) Beck of Bonne Terre; two daughters: Rhonda (Rob) Rogers of Seffner, Fla., and Renee (Paul) Russo of Brandon, Fla.; a sister-in-law: Cora “Maxine” Beck of Festus; nine grandchildren: Shannon (Scott) Greenfield, Robby and Tom Rogers, Corey, Holly and Denise Bailey, Randy Beck Jr., Rozi Daniels and Scoey Wills; and 13 great-grandchildren: Sophia, Nathan and Margo Greenfield, Mercie Daniels, Carson Bailey, Eva Mullen, TJ Rogers, Hannah and Hunter Dill, Penelope, Augustine and Novella Wills and Macie Reiser.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul Beck and James Alvin Beck; a granddaughter: Stephanie Beck; and a special friend: Pat Eisenbeis.
Funeral Mass will be from 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Mathew Cheruparambil. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Homes.
