Gov. Eric Holcomb was released from the hospital Saturday and is resting at home, according to a tweet from his office signed by his press secretary.

He was hospitalized Thursday after going to the doctor with what he thought was the flu. But he was diagnosed with pneumonia instead.

“Out of an abundance of caution he was admitted to the hospital and he’s responding well to treatment,” a separate tweet said that day.

No other information was given.

Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch offered the following in response to news of his hospitalization for pneumonia:

“I’ve been in contact with his staff today, and it’s good to hear the Governor is resting well and responding to treatment. I will be praying for a speedy recovery for him.”

Holcomb was scheduled to award the 2022 Sachem Award to Patricia “Pat” Koch of Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus on Thursday but the event was rescheduled to Friday.
