Two teens shot in Parkway Village

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two teens were shot near Getwell Road and transported to the hospital Sunday afternoon.

At 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at Getwell Road and Cochese.

Police say a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were located and taken to Le Bonheur. One is in critical condition, and the other is in non-critical condition.

Memphis Police say officers found one teen in the 3900 block of Cochese and found the other teen in the 2700 block of Getwell.

Police have one individual detained, but this is still an ongoing investigation.

Memphis Police say that while officers were investigating the shooting, they responded to a report of a disturbance at a house near the scene on Cochese.

According to police, when officers tried to take someone into custody, three residents of the house assaulted them.

A woman identified as Lakisha Shorter was arrested and charged with six counts of assault on a first responder. Police say a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were also charged.
