Detroit police: 29-year-old man fatally shoots man allegedly breaking into his home

DETROIT (WWJ) – A man who was allegedly trying to break into a home on Detroit’s west side over the weekend has been shot and killed.

Detroit police officials say a 29-year-old man came home to his house on Archdale Street – near Fenkell and the Southfield Freeway – around 3:30 a.m. Saturday and caught the man allegedly in the act.

The 29-year-old shot the alleged burglar, who died of his injuries, police officials confirmed to WWJ.

Authorities have not released any other information about the shooting, including the alleged burglar’s name or age, or whether they knew the homeowner.

Police officials say the investigation is ongoing.
