INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On Saturday, Indiana State Police Lt. Keith O‘Donnell accepted a check for $500 for the Noah Shahnavaz Scholarship Fund.

The check was from Anderson Police Chief Mike Lee, and Cliff Cole, president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 48 in Anderson.

The scholarship program was set up after the death in July of Noah Shahnavaz, an Elwood Police Department officer who was shot in the line of duty, according to the Indiana State Police.

The money in the scholarship fund will be awarded to an Elwood High School student who choose a path of further education in an emergency responder field.
