City crews are out and watching the winter weather conditions.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation says they placed 4,750 gallons of de-icer on the designated anti-icing routes last night.
The city says they are ready to use salt in certain areas if need be.
You can view a live tracking map of snow plows when they are out on the roads on the city of Portland's winterreadypdx.com website.
Portland Fire is ready to take extra precautions such as chaining up the fire trucks should they need to.
Sean Whalen with Portland Fire says “We are actively monitoring the road conditions, especially in the West Hills. The Battalion Chief covering this area has been driving the roads and visiting the stations in the higher altitudes of this area and fortunately with the predicted temperatures we are expecting the road conditions to improve throughout the day. We will continue to monitor and take extra precautions, such as chaining up the fire engines, as needed.”
