A celebration of life will be held Monday, Dec. 5, for former Carson City Supervisor Brad Bonkowski at the Nashville Social Club from 2-5 p.m. His family invites anyone whose life has been touched by Brad to join them at the celebration. Bonkowski passed away November 19, after a 16-month battle with an extremely rare cancer.

Bonkowski was elected Carson City Supervisor Ward 2 in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. He served as Acting Mayor after the death of Mayor Bob Crowell. He also had a very successful career as a commercial real estate broker. He is often described as “one of the good ones”.

Bonkowski worked hard, played hard, and loved even harder. He was devoted family man to his wife Andie, and blended family of children Zack, Nikki, Kyle, Michele, and Mallory. He was also committed to serving others in his community. Bonkowski served on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada, President of the Local Board of Realtors and was selected as Realtor of the Year Twice.

His family says he lived a full live and had no regrets. Bonkowski was an avid outdoorsman, traveler and adventure seeker. He is survived by his partner, children, and grandchildren, as well as his sister, Dawn Stephens, and mother, Judy Vinson, in addition to a wide circle of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who adore and respect him.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Brad’s honor to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada at bgcwn.org/donate.
