Brockport HS sends two students to perform with NYSSMA Conference All-State ensembles

Two Brockport High School juniors have been selected to perform with NYSSMA Conference All-State ensembles.

Junior Jason Kleehammer was selected as a NYSSMA Conference All-State Symphony Orchestra member in the Violin 1 section. This NYSSMA ensemble is highly selective and comprised of the finest musicians from all over New York State. Jason is a member of the Brockport High School’s String Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Symphony Orchestra. Jason has performed as a member of the Hochstein Philharmonic and the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra. He is a student of Joe Goehle and Shannon Nance and is the son of Diahn and Larry Kleehammer of Spencerport. Jason will perform with the All-State Symphony Orchestra the morning of Sunday, December 4, at Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre after three days of rehearsal with the entire group. Auditions for selection in the honors ensembles were held in the spring of 2022 at Webster Thomas High School.

Junior Phoebe Ha was selected as a NYSSMA Conference All-State Vocal Jazz ensemble member as a Soprano 1. This NYSSMA ensemble is highly selective as well, and she is one of three on her part selected from across the entire state. Phoebe is a member of the Brockport High School Choir, Brockport High School Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, and MadVocals. Phoebe is a student of Joe Goehle and Liz Banner and is the daughter of Bruce and Sarah Ha of Brockport. Phoebe will perform with the vocal jazz ensemble, consisting of 24 singers and a trio, on the evening of Saturday, December 3, at The Theatre at Innovation Square after three days of rehearsal with the entire group. Auditions for selection in the honors ensembles were held in the spring of 2022 at Wayne Central High School.
