Ohio State football's fate is now officially up to the College Football Playoff committee.

After losing to Michigan to end the 2022 regular season 45-23, the Buckeyes waited through conference championship weekend to see if it would end up as one of the top four teams remaining.

Heading into the final College Football Playoff rankings, all signs point to Ohio State being in the running for a national championship.

Friday night, No. 11 Utah upset No. 4 USC in the Pac-12 championship game 47-24, paving the way for the Buckeyes to be one of the four teams in the College Football Playoff along with Georgia, Michigan and TCU.

But the No. 3 Horned Frogs' loss to No. 10 Kansas State in the Big 12 championship game Saturday 31-28 in overtime opened up discussion of where Ohio State would be ranked in the top four, and whether that would mean a rematch with the Wolverines in the playoff semifinal at the Fiesta Bowl.
